This photograph—and everything that came before and after it—is the result of more than a decade of curiosity and experimentation. Rather than pursuing a single style or process, each new project has naturally led to the next: from digital photography to 35mm film, from in-camera double exposures to the darkroom, and now toward wet plate collodion and long-term documentary work. This page is a look at where that journey began, where it has led, and where I hope it will go next.

Looking back, this photograph marks the beginning of everything that followed. Made on an iPad during a trip to Peru in 2013, it was the first image that made me want to keep making photographs—not just to remember places, but to explore the medium itself.
